Now this is more like it. HBO has an update on Pacquiao’s Greatest Hits and the best highlight reels of his career are all in this video. There is no doubt that his superstardom is born on the night TKO’ed Marco Antonio Barerra, and his dominance of Mexican fighters made people tag him as the Mexicutioner. He doesn’t want to be known as that though.
He wants to be the best. Right now, most boxing analysts consider Manny Pacquiao the best pound-for-pound fighter of the generation, and Pacquiao vs De La Hoya is only a means to establish that fact. He doesn’t need to beat The Golden Boy though to prove that. This fight, entitled The Dream Match, is a testament to Pacquiao’s popularity rather than his boxing skills. De La Hoya chose to fight him because it will net the two fighters the most amount of money than if they fight other boxers of their level.
Here’s the greatest hits video, as promised.
