Fight Synopsis:

May 8, 2004’s clash of Manny Pacquiao versus Juan Manuel Marquez was the first of their boxing trilogy. In their debut duel, Pacquiao took the big lead when knocked down Marquez three times in the first round. Marquez recovered though and managed to fight back within the succeeding rounds. His durabillity lasted till the 12th round.

That was not new for one such great fighter like Barrera. The result was a different story. Many were baffled with the controversial draw from the judges of MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The final tally of the judges is John Stewart 115-110 | judge: Burt Clements 113-113 | judge: Guy Jutras 110-115. Marquez retained his WBA featherweight title, and IBF featherweight title.
