Amir Khan fights this Saturday, July 18, 2009 at his home country in Manchester, England, for his first world title about against Ukranian Andreas Kotelnik (Andriy) for the WBA Super Lightweight belt that Kotelnik currently holds. This is a heavily-marketed fight between two Olympics medalists, and the whole world (yes even the US) will probably watch this on TV after Khan made a career move in changing his coach in Freddie Roach. Khan now trains in the US under Roach, but is still deemed as the underdog going to this fight against Kotelnik.

Khan stormed his way into the boxing arena after his famed win at the Olympics, but he suffered a setback in losing via KO to Breidis Prescott in just 54 seconds. Since then, he vowed to improve and promptly went under the tutelage of Freddie Roach. And it seems the move paid off in has last fights. Kotelnik on the other hand is a hard-hitting Ukrainian just waiting to prove to the world that he deserved the belt that he holds by pounding on one of boxing’s young superstars. I figure it’s going to be a knockout in the first three rounds, but both fighters say it’s going to take a lot more rounds than that and will probably end in a decision.

How to Watch Kotelnik vs Khan:
1) Tune in to Setanta sports. Setanta usually carries these kinds of bouts.
2) Watch out for Youtube replays. Yes it might not be as exciting as the live one, but at least you get the highlights and probably the KO of the fight.
3) Go to live streaming sites like ustream.tv and justin.tv. This is not really a good idea because you are not assured of the quality.

I can only hope that the major networks realize that they should bring the fights in the Internet for free because that’s where most of us look anyway.
