Mosley vs Mayorga Live Video Feed

Sugar Shane Mosley, winner of two amazing career fights against Oscar “Golden Boy” Dela Hoya, will step into the ring tonight once again to fight the man from Nicaragua, Ricardo Mayorga. The fight will be held at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California September 27, 2008 (September 28 in the Philippines). This fight is important for Mosley and Mayorga, because both are ageing fighters who are out to prove their legacy in the sports. Watch the live streaming videos right here in BoxingVid later.

This fight should have happened years ago when both fighters were in their prime years. Instead, pre-fight conferences had Mayorga and Mosley celebrating their victories over people who beat the other one up. Mosley lost to Vernon Forrest twice, the same Forrest who lost to Mayorga. In the same breath, Mosley won over Fernando Vargas twice also, a man Mayorga couldn’t put away in their own match up.

“I would have to say he’s one of my easier opponents,” Mayorga said through a translator. “He was great at one point. His speed is not the same anymore. He’s a shadow of his former self. I came to this fight to win. I came to this fight to retire him, make him a homemaker.

“Once he stands and fights, the fight’s over. He’s going to be fighting with his laundry at home (after the bout). I’m going to be fighting for a world title.”

My prediction is that Shane Mosley will knock out MAyorga in the middle rounds, after some heavy knockouts early. As one boxing analyst has said, “Mayorga has a better chance of making Mosley pregnant than beating him.”
