It’s a sad day for the Philippine contingent as our ony boxing bet Harry Tanamor was surprised by a good fighter from Ghana and therefore lost our chance for a boxing medal in the Olympics. Manyo Plange from Ghana outpointed our local hero, and Harry Tanamor was just outboxed all rounds. Replays clearly tell that Harry lost from good counterpunch left hooks from the Ghanan.
I also watched Mark Javier in Men’s Archery earlier today and I was really amazed on how he was able to go toe-to-toe with his opponent from Chinese-Taipei. Unfortunately, Mark faded out in the end, losing by two points.
We still have medal hopefuls from Taekwondo and we can only hope that at least one of them brings home a medal.
