HBO gives its all in promoting this megafight between Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao. In this 24/7 feature which is divided into four parts, the HBO video crew gets deep and personal with the training of both fighters leading to fight night. Pacquiao is coached by Freddie Roach in the latter’s Wild Card gym in downtown Los Angeles, while Oscar is up in the mountains at Camp Big Bear.

The perfect narration of the story takes you to the daily life of the two fighters—their training, family background, teams, side stories etc. The part four airs today and will be posted here as soon as possible. The full-feature of this 24/7 series will be on at GMA 7 on Saturday at 10PM.

Now this is more like it. HBO has an update on Pacquiao’s Greatest Hits and the best highlight reels of his career are all in this video. There is no doubt that his superstardom is born on the night TKO’ed Marco Antonio Barerra, and his dominance of Mexican fighters made people tag him as the Mexicutioner. He doesn’t want to be known as that though.

He wants to be the best. Right now, most boxing analysts consider Manny Pacquiao the best pound-for-pound fighter of the generation, and Pacquiao vs De La Hoya is only a means to establish that fact. He doesn’t need to beat The Golden Boy though to prove that. This fight, entitled The Dream Match, is a testament to Pacquiao’s popularity rather than his boxing skills. De La Hoya chose to fight him because it will net the two fighters the most amount of money than if they fight other boxers of their level.

Here’s the greatest hits video, as promised.

In preparation for the December 6 De La Hoya vs Pacquiao fight entitled The Dream Match, HBO has rolled out new Greatest Hits video for both fighters. First up is Oscar “The Golden Boy” De La Hoya, who has failed to score a major win since humiliating Fernando Vargas in 2002.

In this video, you will see most of De La Hoya’s losses to skilled and far better fighters. It appeared to me as if Oscar was looking for trouble in moving up into the weight divisions, and this is the main reason for those 5 losses.

UPDATE: PACQUIAO WINS VIA TKO IN THE 8TH ROUND. DE LA HOYA GIVES UP. Round-by-round coverage from Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports

The Dream Match is on and the winner, believe it or not, is both fighters, each taking home millions of dollars for this mega-fight. Many of you can’t wait to see the results of this much awaited bout, and even some are skeptical that it’s hardly a boxing match between two “equal” fighters, but whatever you may think, Manny “The Pacman” Pacquiao from the Philippines will be dancing in the ring with no other than Oscar “The Golden Boy” Dela Hoya, perhaps the two most lucrative fighters now in boxing. The fight will be held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada which will be broadcasted on Pay-Per-View (PPV) by HBO at the catch weight of 147 lbs. Here in the Philippines, there are a variety of ways to watch the fight (for free) including live streaming video from the Internet. Want to know how to do that? Read on.
