Kelly Pavlik proves why he is the king of the middleweights after successfully defending his belt June 7, 2008 at the Boardwalk Hall against Gary Lockett. Pavlik outclassed Lockett by a mile and sent the Welshman home humbled without hurting himself. The video for the full fight below, with these summaries: Round 1, Pavlik throws and lands; Round 2, 2 knockdowns, and Round 3, TKO with the Lockett’s corner throwing in the towel. Watch how WBC middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik will go through a trek of his boxing journey towards the road of stardom. This he will do in a match against European contender Gary Lockett. See them exchange hits on June 7 in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall. You can see here in a video provided below the preview of “Buckeye Banger” (33-0, 29 KO) taking on his mandatory challenger Gary Lockett of Wales (30-1, 21 KO) as part of HBO’s “World Championship Boxing.”

Lockett who was remembered in his best and worst form at his fight against Rhodes of June, 2006 It was in that duel that he proved himself as fast starter when he dropped Rhodes in the first 30 seconds with a hook to the top of the head. Watch here the video of Gary’ insights on how he will slim the chances for a possible Pavlik-Calzaghe bout.

Pavlik on the other hand has his mind fixed on adding Lockett to his list of victims no matter how aggressive he is touted to be. If one may recall, this was what Pavlik did to Edison Miranda on their May 19, 2007 fight in Memphis. Pavlik murdered his opponent in a showdown of young middleweight bombers after seven amazing rounds. That was where he emerged a TKO winner. That boxing crime was his rise to fame.

It is predicted that Pavlik’s lanky frame and volume-punching approach will be scare the hell out of the cut-prone aggressor Lockett. To avoid such nightmare, the latter must move inside Pavlik’s long arms and work combinations to the body. Expect this fight to have some meaty exchange of blows more coming from Pavlik. Despite this, Pavlik must not be complacent because Lockett has this seemingly mild brows that are actually lethal to his rival. If the predictions will come true. Pavlik will be a winner in seven rounds or earlier as expected.
