Fight Synopsis:

This December 01, 2007 fight witnessed Nonito Donaire in his first defense of the crown he won by stopping Vic Darchinyan with a single left hook to the jaw in the fifth round last July. The boxing bout took place at Foxwoods Casino, Mashantucket, Connecticut, United States. Here as shown in the video, he collided with Mexican Luis Maldonado.

Donaire was the ground breaker in the first round using his quick movements. He proceeded to do the same in the next rounds. At the second round, Maldonado’s face was already a bloody wreck. His right eye was cut as seen in the video here. Watch the succeeding rounds becoming an opportunity to Maldonado to fight back in this boxing bout. His killer left hook found another victim when Maldonado was down in round seven from two left hooks to the head. A barrage brought the stoppage.

This fight had Nonito avenged his brother Glenn’s loss over Vic Darchinyan. The boxing bout video here shows how the supposed
underdog Nonito Donaire became the executioner thereby upsetting Darchinyan’s plans to punish his opponent in this clash held at
Harbour Yard Arena, Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States. The July 07, 2007 fight was for the IBF/IBO flyweight title.

It was a good decision for the Filipino Flash to dropped down to 112 pounds. His deed gave him the chance to maul previously undefeated IBF flyweight titlist Vic Darchinyan. Watch the video here where California’s Donaire exhibited superior technique and footwork from the onset of the bout and caught the aggressive lunging champ. With his counter attacks as a good foundation and a fatal left hook, he won the fight by knocking the power-punching Australian out at 1:38 of the fifth round.

The Aussie sprawled in the canvas and almost did not make it to the referee’s ten count. He barely stood up only to stumble into the ropes where his corner rescued him. That’s when ref wisely waved the contest off.Darchinyan wants to avenge his flyweight boxing world title loss to Donaire, but expects a rematch to take place at super flyweight.

Fight Synopsis:

Donaire, then 23 year old was already a crowd favorite had his second huge pro-fight when he had a boxing bout with Jose Luis Cardenas at Chumash Casino, Santa Ynez, California, United States. Watch this fight here which was held on July 29, 2006. His opponent just came from a victorious match against Tony Valdez.

The full fight is in the video below showcasing Donaire as a brilliant fighter in the ring. His sharp work were fatal to Cardenas pushed in the ropes. With barely a minute from the first round Cardenas released a solid punch that shaken Nonito for awhile. The Filipino boxer bounced back with his deadly combination of right and left hooks when the second round began. There was a fair exchange of explosive punches. Donaire’s intensity overwhelmed the Mexican boxer that he toppled down the canvas. Donaire’s left hook got the better of Cardenas.

In this video, watch how a straight in the middle from the Filipino contender saw the end of Jose Luis Cardenas. This is of course another ace in the then ranked # 11 of WBC Nonito Donaire. Cardenas lost by way of a technical knockout.

Fight Synopsis:

The Filipino Flash Nonito Donaire stopped Kahren Harutyunyan once en route to a minor upset by split decision. The judges scoring was slightly a clinch than the dull fight itself. The 10 round super flyweight main event of an must-see five bout card from the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California was also the main event on Showtime’s ShoBox series.

Donaire maximized his height and reach to drop Harutyunyan in this boxing clash. The first round as shown in the video had both fighters warming up landing effective counters, but even then Donaire already had the advantage. Nonito Donaire came out strong by the time the second round had began. He started beating Harutyunyan with a solid left hook. His opponent gained momentum immediately, even unhanding a solid overhand right. Harutyunyan had his chance in the next round watch how he bounce back in the video below. You’ll get a glimpse of the full fight in the video under this. The latter landed a solid chopping right hand, and followed it up with a solid left hook which had Donaire trace his tracks.

The Filipino boxer landed a neck snapping left hook to open the fourth round. His deadly combination of shots to the head and body was stunning. Harutyunyan though kept the fight in close. Donaire started to turn the fight in round six with Harutyunyan was kept at bay. Using his reach and releasing some hard right crosses Nonito lorded the round. This went on till the ninth round. He kept the fight on the outside and pecked away at Harutyunyan whenever he tried to come inside.

He did close the fight strong as he bullied his way and did good work inside. The tenth round was a Harutyunyan one. He was able to upset Donaire inside and won the round. Still, it was not be enough. The fight went to the cards, and surprisingly it was a split decision, with Donaire winning. He won by scores of 97-92,97-92, and 94-95. BRC scored the fight 97-92 for Donaire. A solid win for Donaire in the main event on ShoBox. With the win Donaire improves to 14-1, while Harutyunyan falls to 13-3-3.
