Pacman slugged it out with Torrecampo in Mandaluyong City. During the first round,a left jab landed across the temple/face area, and Torrecampo’s arm followed through to Pacquiao’s left thigh. Unfortunately, there is only one angle of the KO shown. If there was another angle, you’d see a much clearer story rather than having to watch replays in slow motion. This went on till the second round.
As both fighters were trading lefts, the left hand of Torrecampo landed across the face of Pacquiao. Pacquiao was dazed on the canvas – not wincing, not grabbing at his groin. Pacquiao’s head banged off the canvas as well – which is consistent with a head shot, not a punch to the thigh. The latter was unable to beat the 10 count.Manny was knocked out. The KO was consistent with a head punch.
That was in 1996.His weight increased from 106 to 113 pounds before losing in this 12th bout of his via a third round technical knockout (TKO). As well-known sportscaster Joaquin “Quinito” Henson observed, Pacquiao clearly had not made weight, so he was forced to use heavier gloves than Torrecampo, thereby putting Pacquiao at a disadvantage.Posted May 11th, 2008 by boxingvid | 1,351 views 1,841 Comments »
