The reigning WBC International featherweight boxing champion Manny Pacquiao stopped Jorge Solis by an 8th round victory in their fight at the Alamodome, in San Antonio, Texas. Solis, ranked # 4 Super featherweight in the WBC left the ring with a tainted record from his previously undefeated slate. He did not gave Pacquiao an easy fight on the April 14, 2007 clash though.
The 5’8½ fighter used his height and reach advantage, along with some good head movement, to keep Pacquiao relatively off balance for the first seven rounds. Despite this, Solis never really amounted to much of a threat to the Filipino mainly being limited to jabs, and occasional right hands that he was able to land as Pacman would charge in the boxing duel.
The limited offensive of Solis was all he had so the fight was Pacquiao’s , Manny lorded over with blazing fast speed and powerful combinations. a A clash of heads in the 6th round staged in a boxing drama. Unfortunately for the Filipino, it opened up a cut above his left eye.
