Perhaps the best fight to come along this year, the rematch between B.J. “The Prodigy” Penn and Georges “Rush” St. Pierre for UFC 94 will be a continuation of the rivalry between these two outstanding MMA fighters. Fight will be held at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas on Saturday, January 31, 2009 for the Welterweight Title current held by St. Pierre and which Penn has held sometime in the past. This bout will be aired on PPV only, but is available on delayed telecast for some countries. Considering the magnitude of this fight and the number of fans both fighters acquired through the years, I will not be surprised if a lot of people will put this online and give free live streaming videos. I watched the Mosley-Margarito fight online last week, and I’m telling you it ain’t good. Luckily, for us here in the Philippines, the Balls Channel of ABS will broadcast this on Cable TV. I might not be able to know the results and winners asap, but at least I’ll be able to watch the high quality coverage video.

UFC 94 Live has the best flash website I’ve visited all time, and although the loading time did not exactly favor my Internet connection, the full UFC 94 website was worth the wait.

I watched the video of their first fight and my observation was that B.J. Penn has better stand-up fight, while St. Pierre prefers the floor or the walls of the Octagon. I also thought Penn was a much better and skilled fighter. The reason he lost though was that he didn’t have enough air and strength to stay up for 3 rounds, which probably says something about his focus and training. It seems he didn’t pay attention to St. Pierre, having targeted Matt Hughes and his belt. This time, I think he will be able to prepare well and his focus rests on St. Pierre only. MY prediction for this fight is a KO for Penn, either in the 2nd or 3rd round.
