You can watch the Elite XC bouts, which will be held at Stockton Arena, live broadcast on Primetime TV , starting at 8 p.m. ET with an hour on Showtime followed by two hours live on CBS today Saturday, July 26 27 2008. Kimbo Slice won’t be there to delight the fans, but many prediction says that the result of this event will be as successful as the first one. Stay tuned to this website for the updates and results of the fights.

The Showtime main event of the evening is a fight between Antonio “Big Foot” Silva (10-1) versus Justin Eilers (20-7-1). I’m rooting for Silva on this one because Eilers seems to be a wekaer fighter.

Here’s an excerpt from Kevin Iole’s column at Yahoo Sports.

What it does have is the continuation of the best match from the debut show, as Robbie Lawler (15-4-1, one no contest) once again defends his middleweight title against Scott Smith (15-4, one no contest), a local favorite from nearby Sacramento. The two battled evenly in May, including through a second round that was of the more exciting rounds of the year. Both men, each with reputations as knockout punchers, scored with big shots.

But Smith was poked in the eye late in Round 3, and when his vision didn’t recover fast enough, the match was stopped and called a no contest.

“My eye and my foot are 100 percent,” said Smith. “It was a non-issue. I was running a week after the fight so the foot was no problem. And the eye was just a little blurry that night. It was fine the next day.”

The promotion will also create two new champions, one on CBS and the other on Showtime.

On CBS, Jake Shields (20-4-1), generally considered the best North American welterweight not in the UFC – noted for having perhaps the best Jiu Jitsu game in the sport – faces Nick “The Goat” Thompson (36-9-1). Thompson is riding a 12-fight win streak that includes a TKO win last year over one of this year’s hottest fighters, Eddie Alvarez. Thompson is facing double pressure this week, as a few days after the fight he will be testing for the Minnesota bar.

Nick Diaz (17-7, one no contest), Stockton’s most well-known fighter and a lightning rod of controversy, faces Thomas “Wildman” Denny. Diaz was involved in one of the most memorable fights of 2007, submitting Japan’s Takanori Gomi – one of the best lightweight fighters in the short history of the sport – with a gogoplata.

The other CBS matches include a women’s fight with Shayna Baszler (11-4) facing Brazilian Cristiane Santos (4-0), who uses the ring name Cristiane Cyborg (she is the wife of Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos); and a swing match with Stockton’s David “Tarzan” Douglas (3-1) facing Brazil’s Marlon Mathias (5-2).

The Showtime main event is a match to determine the company’s first heavyweight champion, with Antonio “Big Foot” Silva (10-1) facing the seemingly overmatched Justin Eilers (20-7-1). Eilers is best known for being on the wrong end of a highlight-reel knockout in 2005 from Andrei Arlovski, but he has won 10 of his last 11 fights since his UFC contract was dropped in 2006.

And here are some UFC Elite XC videos on Youtube, derving its success from the May 31 primetime showing. Eventually, organizers and promoters are aiming for big pay-per-view fights early 2009.
