We take a break from the usual sports videos and cover this very important event for people around the world to see. In a matter of hours, tonight December 31, 2008 at 11:59 PM, New York City will be dropping its time ball once again to usher in the NEW YEAR 2009. The time ball will drop in exactly 60 seconds onwards to 12:00AM January 1, 2009. Here in boxing videos, we will provide you with the live streaming coverage of the events, as well as links to live webcams around New York’s Time Square to get every possible view of the event. Dark Knight has listed several ways on where to watch the NY Ball Drop online as well as the traditional TV Coverage Broadcast by CBS, ABC, FOX and NBC. You might want to have all these channels ready because the Ball Drop is a live event and as such, all stations will give you a different angle of Times Square. Live Event Videos also promised to give us webcam views of the event. Confetti’s and fireworks are also expected to grace the event.

For this year 2009, they will be using ESL or Energy Saving Lamps to light the Time Ball, compared to the early years wherein they used incandescent bulbs. I think this signals a big change for all of us with regard to how we use electricity and energy in general.
